Licensing of Realtors in Azerbaijan: Ensuring Professionalism and Protection

Currently, there is a discussion in Azerbaijan regarding the mandatory licensing of realtors. In the real estate sector, there is a lack of progress, and the absence of professionalism in this field is becoming a problem.

At present, all that is required to become a realtor is to have a mobile phone. This creates a low entry barrier into this field but increases risks for clients. The unprofessional conduct of realtors creates a negative impression of "black realtors" and affects society's trust in this industry.

Yalchin Osmanov, the director of the "AREA" real estate company, has proposed legislative changes concerning realtors and suggested considering the possibility of licensing their activities. These changes could establish standards and norms in the real estate sector, elevating professionalism and safeguarding the interests of clients. The effective implementation of these measures could also protect the market from incompetent participants.

The issue of realtor licensing is pertinent and sparks much discussion. What is your opinion on this important matter?
